Crabs dance on the beach, living a life of carefree luxury. Just off the coast, the plankton wallow in abject poverty...  until one daring plankton decides they've had enough!

Collect resources on the beach and fortify your village. The crabs won't know what hit 'em!

Controls:

WASD - move
Mouse - In shop, click and drag to attach/remove pieces from your town. Rotate the camera by dragging the surroundings.
F - toggle fullscreen

Tips for an easier experience:

  1. Increase your population as more plankton makes your town fire its weapons faster
  2. Destroy the black egg nests, they give a lot of the claw resource
  3. Restarting the game completely can give a lot of resources from the tutorial (it's a bug but might be too hard without exploiting it)
  4. Get a saw, collect lots of wood, don't forget to reroll and spend all your resources

Known issues:

  • Some significant lag may occur the first time you run the game
  • Sometimes you get an unlucky spawn inside enemies and die
  • Occasionally, after several minutes the screen can turn gray. You can still move and sometimes the visuals will return
  • Some weapons don't fire accurately
  • Balance is off, depending on the buildings it can be too easy or too hard without it being very clear

amazing, i wish it was endless

A lot of fun, and the idea of attaching new parts to yourself was executed a lot better than what I had for my game! Will definitely take some inspiration

Great fun, I played it to the end. Great effort for such a small time frame. Well done!

This is epic. Probably my favorite game of the jam.

Also, congrats on getting featured. It was well deserved.

This was very fun to play, and looks crazy for a game jam game.

I really want this to be a fully fletched game one day, because I want more!

I had a lot of fun taking revenge on the crabs and turning them into meat!
I played the downloadable version, which was a bit heavy at the beginning of loading, but other than that, the game was very light despite the large number of objects.
The coastline was really beautiful when the viewpoint was horizontal during the building part.
Very nice gaming experience, meow~!

Thanks for sharing the video! It was a lot of fun watching you figure it out (and sing along to the music ^^). The English translations at the bottom were a nice touch as well!

I got a grey screen on lvl 3 and could not see anything apart from the UI.
I have to say tho. Super fun. The construction system is very freeing. I am just missing some zoom out functionality.
Also once you get behind on collecting meat its hard to start killing crabs again because every attacking structure consumes meat.

VERY fun take on the theme, love how silly it is! Web version was a bit slow for me at times (with the amount of things happening on the screen) but otherwise it's one of the most polished games I've tried so far on this jam, amazing work!

Super fun game! Addicting game loop and when you get a good run and get powerful it feels sooo good!

Ran into a few bugs in the final level the whole screen would sometimes go grey and the hives would be pushed out into the water and destroyed where I could never collect their loot but I was so strong at that point I didn't need it.

Well done!
